How to remove residue from laptop stickers

Here at tabGeeks, we LOVE laptop stickers. We decorate our laptops, our office doors and even give them away at conferences. But sometimes our laptops outlive a particularly trendy sticker. So for a slightly off-beat post today, I’m going to tell you how to get that yucky residue off your laptop once an old sticker starts falling off or you remove it because you don’t want it any more.

What you’ll need: Nail-polish remover & cotton (rounds, balls, pads, whatever you can get your hands on). FYI: Paper towels will work in a pinch, but they do make this process significantly more difficult as they are designed to absorb, and cotton is better at controlled dispersal.

Step 1 - Apply nail-polish remover to the cotton

The easiest way to do this is just cover the top of the bottle with cotton and turn it over. The cotton will absorb as much as it can.

Step 2 - Scrub

Yup. Thats it. Just keep scrubbing the residue with your nail-polish-remover-absorbed-cotton and voila. All clean. You may have to go through a few pieces of cotton (was 4 for me), to get it all off.

Edit: One of our awesome tabGeeks followers mentioned they have used baby wipes and they work as well. We haven’t tested it, but will give it a try next time!
